| 英文描述 | An American Saddlebred colt had persistent hemolytic anemia and hyperbilirubinemia. Morphologic abnormalities of the red cells included eccentrocytosis, pyknocytosis, anisocytosis, macrocytosis, and increased number of Howell-Jolly bodies. Studies showed the colt was deficient in glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase. A deficiency of this enzyme is an X-linked inherited cause of hemolytic anemia in humans. |
